Legendary off spinner R Ashwin announced his retirement from the International Cricket
Senior India spinner R Ashwin announced retirement from international cricket.
Ashwin retired from the game as the second highest wicket-taker for India in Tests.
He has 537 wickets in 106 games
He is only behind Anil Kumble (619 wickets).
In the white-ball format, Ashwin made 181 appearances and snatched 228 wickets.
He made 116 ODI appearances and took 156 wickets at an average of 33.20, with best figures of 4/25.
He also made 707 runs at an average of 16.44.
He is the 13th-highest wicket-taker in ODIs for India.

Moldova signed International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework Agreement
Moldova has officially signed the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework Agreement.
It was signed in New Delhi by India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi.
Moldova became the 105th member.
Armenia became the 104th full member last month.
About International Solar Alliance
The International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework Agreement (FA) came into force in 2017.
All United Nations member states became eligible to join the ISA.
The headquarters of the ISA is located in Gurugram, India.
The ISA was formed on the sidelines of COP21 in Paris in 2015.
Currently, the ISA has 104 member countries and 16 signatory countries.
ISA is not part of the United Nations, but the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has granted Observer Status to the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

Prime Minister Modi signed a tripartite agreement for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project
It was done on the occasion of completion of one year of the Rajasthan government.
The Project will make both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan 'Sujlam-Sufalam
About the project
This project aims to harvest surplus water available during the rainy season in rivers in Southern Rajasthan such as Chambal and its tributaries, including Kunnu, Parvati, Kalisindh.
The project would provide water to 13 districts in Rajasthan.
It would irrigate at least 2.8 lakh hectares in both states.
About Chambal River
It originates at the Singar Chouri peak in the northern slopes of the Vindhya mountains.
It flows in the North direction in Madhya Pradesh for a length of about 346 km.
It then follows a north-easterly direction for a length of 225 km through Rajasthan.
It enters Uttar Pradesh and flows for about 32 km before joining the Yamuna River in Etawah District.
Tributaries: Banas, Kali Sindh, Sipra, Parbati.
Main Power Projects/ Dam: Gandhi Sagar Dam, Rana Pratap Sagar Dam, Jawahar Sagar Dam, and Kota Barrage.
UCC will come into effect in Uttarakhand from January 2025
Uttarakhand will adopt UCC from January 2025.
It will become the first Indian state to do so post-independence.
The UCC Bill was passed on February 7, 2024, and received presidential assent on March 12, 2024.
About Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
A Uniform Civil Code is a unitary system of personal laws applicable to all irrespective of religion.
The UCC is mentioned in Article 44 of the Constitution as part of the Directive Principles of State Policy.
Goa is the only state in India with a UCC, following the Portuguese Civil Code of 1867.
