Jaishankar received 'Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi' award for leadership
- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was awarded the Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi National Eminence Award for Public Leadership.
- It was done by the South Indian Education Society (SIES).
- The award carries 2.5 lakh cash prize, a citation, an ornamental lamp and a scroll.

About Atal Bihari Vajpayee
- Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
- He served as India’s primeminister three times briefly in 1996, for 13 months in 1998 and 1999, and full-time from 1999 to 2004.
- In 2015, he was conferred India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna. He received Padma Vibhushan in 1994.
About Madan Mohan Malviya
- The birth anniversary of Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya is also observed on 25th December.
- He took part in the Salt Satyagraha and Civil Disobedience Movement.

PM Modi laid foundation stone of Ken-Betwa river linking project
- The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Ken-Betwa Link Project
- It is India’s first interlinking of rivers project, in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.
About the project
- It has an Estimated cost of ₹44,605 crores, with 90% funded by the Central Government.
- Rivers involved are the Ken River and Betwa River, both tributaries of the Yamuna River.
- Phase I includes the construction of the Daudhan Dam in Panna Tiger Reserve, Low-Level and High-Level Tunnels, the Ken-Betwa Link Canal, and Powerhouses.
- Phase II includes the Lower Orr Dam, Bina Complex Project, and Kotha Barrage.
- It will provides irrigation to over 8 lakh hectares in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
